HubSpot installation guide

Follow the steps below to integrate HubSpot with Crowdvocate. 

 

NOTE:

This will sync data between your HubSpot and Crowdvocate account, and install the custom objects in your HubSpot account (see the HubSpot objects overview).

 

The HubSpot integration and app installation is performed in two parts:

Install the App and Integrate

  • In Crowdvocate Admin, go to Settings > Customize

  • Under CRM Integration Settings, click Edit settings

  • Expand Connect CRM, and select HubSpot from the drop-down menu.

  • Click Connect.

  • The HubSpot connection page will be displayed. Select your HubSpot account and click Choose Account.

  • HubSpot will show you an access request page, detailing each area of your HubSpot account the Crowdvocate app is requesting access to. Click Connect app to approve and continue the installation.

NOTE:

You may be asked to complete a Captcha verification to continue. 

 

  • The page will return to Crowdvocate Admin. Under CRM Integration Settings, the HubSpot connection confirmation is displayed.

TIP:

You can also verify the integration was successful from your HubSpot login. Go to Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps. The Crowdvocate app should be listed.

Set up HubSpot Custom Properties

Since Crowdvocate maintains more data for each contact than HubSpot does by default, follow the steps below to set up custom properties in HubSpot to ensure full integration. 

 

NOTE:

  • In HubSpot, click the settings icon in the main navigation bar.

  • In the left-hand menu, select Properties.

TIP:

To keep these custom properties organized, we recommend first creating a custom Group. Name it Crowdvocate Reference or something similar. 

 

  • Using the Select an object drop-down menu, select Contact Properties.
  • In the top-right corner, click Create property.

  • Enter the required details as shown in the table below for each of the 14 custom properties.

 

WARNING:

Make sure these details and labels are entered exactly otherwise the field will not be recognized or sync with Crowdvocate. 

 

NOTE:

Click the  icon to enter the Internal name
